La Joue du Loup - Resort description & ski information
La Joue du Loup is an exceptional family resort in the Haute Alpes. Along with neighbouring resort Super Dévoluy, this very French village gives access to a varied ski area, as well as some decent cross-country opportunities. It may be small, but it has just about everything you could wish for in a ski resort, with great amenities and just enough nightlife to keep you going.
Skiing in La Joue du Loup
La Joue du Loup’s ski area, which it shares with Super Dévoluy, is an ideal place for beginners with lots of nice wide slopes, while intermediates have their pick of 15 red and 23 blue runs between the two resorts. With only five black runs, there isn’t quite as much to challenge the more advanced, though there is plenty of off-piste skiing to enjoy in this relatively quiet resort. Snowboarders have their own snowpark too, and there are plenty of snow cannons, so snow is more or less guaranteed.
The resort and Ski Accommodation Information
Full of character and conveniently located close to the slopes, Chalets du Village Bois and the Residence La Crete du Berger are perfect for a ski break and a relaxing moment.
This laid-back resort comes complete with a cinema, grocery shop, boulangerie, a few sports shops, 8 bars and restaurants, and one nightclub. There’s also the opportunity to try out a skidoo or dog sledging if you feel the need. There is slightly more going on over the mountain in Super Dévoluy, but once you start to relax here, you probably won’t want to leave.
