St Jean d'Arves - Resort description & ski information

Saint Jean d'Arves is perhaps one of the most rustic, authentic ski villages in France. This is the perfect antidote for anyone who's had their fill of soulless purpose-built resorts, and offers the chance to turn a family skiing trip into an authentic French experience. On top of that, St Jean is linked by free bus to St Sorlin. The resort is part of the Les Sybelles ski area, with access to some 310km of slopes and some of the prettiest skiing around.

Skiing in Saint Jean d'Arves

From St Jean you have access to the St Sorlin and Le Corbier ski areas by free shuttle. St Sorlin itself has 120km of north-facing pistes to explore, with enough blues and greens to get any beginner off to a great start. Le Corbier offers some great intermediate skiing, while anyone looking for a real challenge can head off-piste for some pristine skiing conditions. There is a snowpark on hand, and just in case that isn't enough, there is the rest of Les Sybelles to explore with its 22 green, 42 blue, 27 red and 5 black runs.

Residence La Fontaine Du Roi are stunning rustic chalets situated in the picturesque alpine village of St Jean d’Arves.

As a proper Savoyard village, St Jean's après-ski scene feels very local, with just a couple of homely bars and restaurants to sample after a peaceful day on the slopes. Off-piste activities to enjoy include a visit to the Beaufort cheese factory, paragliding, snowshoeing, dog sledging, ice skating, and there is even a local cinema.
