Flaine - Resort description & ski information

Flaine is the main resort of the Grand Massif ski domain which includes Les Carroz, Samoens, Morillon and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. Set in a bowl in the mountain it has a sunny disposition and great snow conditions - and its only an hour from Geneva!

Skiing in Flaine
If you snowboard Flaine is the resort for you - it has a three snow parks and plenty of adventurous off-piste areas. If you prefer to stick to the slopes you can access over 250km across the whole Grand Massif area. Don't miss the Cascades, a 14km long blue piste which borders the Sixt-à-Fer-Cheval - there is not a single chairlift in sight! The Grandes Platières cable car climbs 900m in only 12 minutes - and there are amazing views of Mont Blanc from the top.

The resort
Flaine is a compact purpose built resort - and whilst it is not the prettiest of resorts it has everything you need for a great holiday. There are several restaurants right at the foot of the slopes so you can start the apres-ski entertainment as soon as the skis are off your feet. If partying from happy hours into the night in one of the bars is not your style then take advantage of some of the more artistic activites. Concerts are often in in the auditorium or take a look at the exhibitions in the cultural centre.
