La Rosiere - Resort description & ski information

If you're looking for something a little bit different in your French ski resort, La Rosière could well be it. On the border with Italy, this charming village is linked with La Thuile in Italy, and forms part of the Espace St. Bernard ski area. As a small, friendly resort, La Rosière offers lots for children and makes a great destination for families and those wanting a laid back skiing holiday without the late night partying.

Skiing in La Rosière

Though experienced skiers may feel a little limited by what La Rosière has to offer, beginners and intermediates will love it here. The French side of the resort is often bathed in sunshine, making it a warm place to find your feet, whilst the north-facing Italian side usually guarantees good snow. There are plenty of off-piste opportunities too, with many routes taking you through the woods. Those looking for more can arrange a heliski trip to Italy, and there is a decent snowpark for boarders.

The resort

As a family-oriented resort, nightlife is not the most important thing in La Rosière. There are, however, plenty of welcoming eateries to choose from, and you always have the option of skiing to Italy for an authentic Italian lunch. There is a fitness centre in the village, complete with a spa, and there is also a climbing wall for the more energetic. Other après-ski activities include walking, snowshoeing, parachuting and paragliding. More unusually, there is a snowkite school up here, so you can learn how to hurtle across the slopes in a whole new way.
