St Gervais - Resort description & ski information

Nestled on the western flank of Mont Blanc half way between Chamonix and Megève, Saint Gervais occupies a very privileged position. From here you have access not only to the immediate slopes, but to the entire Evasion Mont Blanc area; you can get a pass to cover this resort along with Saint Nicolas de Véroce, Megève, Combloux, Les Contamines, Montjoie and Les Houches. If that isn't enough to entice you, this is the only resort in the Alps where you can combine skiing with some first-class spa treatments at the local thermal baths.

Skiing in Saint Gervais

As part of the Evasion Mont Blanc ski area, you have plenty of choices on where to ski from Saint Gervais, with a total of 420km of pistes from which to take your pick. Saint Gervais itself has some good nursery slopes near the village, while intermediates can explore the large number of blues and reds, and there are four often overlooked blacks to negotiate. There is also an excellent snowpark and half pipe on hand here. For some more challenging skiing, you'll find classy Megève on the other side of Mont d'Arbois, while a journey on the quaint Mont Blanc tramway from the centre of Saint Gervais will give you access to the slopes of Les Houches in the Chamonix-Mont Blanc ski area.

The resort

As a family-friendly village more into health and beauty than hedonism, Saint Gervais isn't known for its wild nightlife. You can always head to nearby Megève if that's what you fancy, but here you'll be treated to a more sedate selection of quality bars and restaurants, along with a casino and nightclub. As well as the endless beauty treatments available at the spa, there are plenty of après-ski activities on offer here including snowshoeing, paragliding, horse riding and ice skating.
