Mer, situated on the Ile de Re island, is a renowned seaside resort. It
offers endless sunshine, small harbours, beautiful villages and a whole host of
activities. On the beach these include sailing, wind-surfing, wind-surfing and
water-skiing. Fishing is another popular pastime. Away from the sea, the island
can be enjoyed by through long walks, bike rides, or a game of tennis. The
island and its beaches are surrounded by picturesque pine trees and sand dunes.
