Location

Le Manoir is one of five Ski France chalets located in Le Village, an exclusive development at the top of Alpe d'Huez, located in an enviable position right next to the pistes and the main lifts of the resort. In fact you can ski right back to your door at Le Manoir, as the piste runs directly in front of the chalet from the Rond Points des pistes, whilst behind the chalet is a welcoming and attractive cobbled courtyard between the five chalets. The town centre is a pleasant 10 minutes' walk away, where you'll find a vibrant resort, with plenty of great bars, restaurants and shopping, plus an outdoor ice rink and swimming pool. If you don't fancy the walk into town, then take the aerial route as the nearby caged gondola lift can transport you to different parts of the resort.

The Chalet

Chalet Le Manoir would make a perfect family ski holiday; get together with aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents in this spacious property with six bedrooms accommodating up to 12 guests. With the nursery pistes just outside, it's a great choice if you have children. Don't let that put off groups of adults though, it would also make a great base for a trip with friends, looking to enjoy this vibrant resort which has a great selection of bars, restaurants and après-ski notably with the world renowned Folie Douce above the Bergers area of resort.

The main entrance to the chalet is on the first floor, with a ski and boot room located upon entry. There is a living-cum-dining room located on this floor, which is bathed in light from the vast picture windows. The openness of the room gives a light and airy feel, whilst the focal point of the room, the beautiful stone fireplace gives a warmth which is complimented by the comfortable red sofas. The lovely solid dining table has ample space to seat all the guests, whilst an open window to the kitchen allows those cooking to remain sociable with those in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with two ovens, three two-ring hobs, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, Senseo machine and coffee percolator.

The luxurious and spacious bedrooms are spread across the three floors, with a mix of double (160cm x 200cm) and twins (90 x 200cm) each with a balcony and some of which actually spill straight onto the piste. All the bedrooms in the chalet are equipped with their own television. The first bedroom is on the ground floor and has twin beds and an en-suite bathroom and WC. There is another twin on the first floor with en-suite shower and WC, whilst on the second floor there are three twin rooms, two with en-suite bathrooms and one with an en-suite shower room, and the final master bedroom with a double bed and en-suite shower and WC.

All the televisions in the chalet, whether in the living room or the bedrooms, offer a selection of English (satellite) and French (TNT) channels. They also allow you to connect to your personal subscriptions, such as Netflix, Prime Video, and others, using your own login details.

There are spa facilities on the ground floor with a sauna and hot tub. From the hot tub you can open up the doors for stunning views of the piste in front of the chalet. It's the perfect way to unwind after a tiring day of skiing and sure to ease any aches and pains away.

There is free high-speed WIFI throughout the chalet, so whether you need to do some work whilst away, or just fancy streaming your favourite show, you'll be well looked after. For those driving to the resort, there is underground covered parking available.

With your own dedicated chalet chef and host, you can spend your time enjoying the slopes, your chalet and the company of family and friends, while your chalet team takes care of everything else.
From breakfast before you head out for the day to afternoon treats on your return and freshly prepared dinners in the evening, our catered service combines the comfort and privacy of your own chalet with the pleasure of being looked after throughout your stay.

Breakfast

Breakfast is taken care of every morning of your stay, with fresh bread and pastries delivered from the local bakery each morning. On five mornings, your chalet chef will be on hand to prepare a cooked breakfast to your liking, alongside a generous continental selection.
Your chef has two well-earned days off during the week. On one of these mornings, your chalet host will still be there to look after you, serving a generous continental breakfast and taking care of everything as usual. There will also be one day when both your chef and host enjoy a well-earned day off. On this morning, everything will be provided for a relaxed self-service continental breakfast, so you can simply help yourselves at a time that suits you.

Afternoon tea

After a day exploring the mountain, return to your chalet to find homemade cakes and other sweet treats waiting for you the perfect afternoon pick-me-up after a day on the slopes. Afternoon tea is provided on a self-service basis, so you can help yourselves whenever you return to the chalet.

Dinner

Your first evening begins with champagne and canapés, served before dinner the perfect way to settle into your chalet and toast the start of your week in the mountains.
On five evenings, your private chef will prepare a delicious three-course dinner, freshly cooked for you in the chalet using quality ingredients and local produce wherever possible. Pre-dinner nibbles, unlimited wine and a selection of beers are also included, leaving you free to sit back and enjoy the evening.
On one of your chef's two days off, your chalet host will be there to look after you for a traditional Savoyard raclette evening. A wonderfully sociable meal to enjoy with family or friends, raclette is served around the table, where you melt the cheese yourselves and enjoy it with potatoes, charcuterie and traditional accompaniments. Your host will take care of everything else, with dessert to follow.
Your chalet will also be stocked with a selection of delicious local cheeses, which you can enjoy as a cheese board before or after dinner, whichever you prefer. The exception, of course, is raclette night, when we suspect even the biggest cheese lovers will have had their fill!
On the chalet team's day off, we'll be delighted to recommend some of our favourite local restaurants, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the resort's dining scene.

Alpe d'Huez

Alpe d'Huez is a large purpose-built resort with an outstanding range of facilities and services, ideal for those looking to enjoy an action-packed holiday both on and off the pistes. At 1860m altitude, the south facing resort benefits form the winning combination of lots of sunshine as well as a great snow record. At only 1 hour 30 minutes from Grenoble Airport, Alpe d'Huez is easily accessible from the UK and vies with Les Deux Alpes for the title of the best resort in Isère.

The Ski Area

Previously known as the Les Grandes Rousses Ski Area, the Alpe d'Huez Grand Domaine Ski is spread across 10,000 hectares with 250km of linked pistes to explore. The area comprises of five ski resorts and two traditional mountain villages of varying character, of which Alpe d'Huez is the largest and most popular. With an altitude range of 1130m-3330m, culminating at the summit of the Pic Blanc, the ski area boasts a variety of ski terrain and an impressive vertical descent. With one of Europe's largest nursery areas, the resort is ideal for beginners whilst more experienced skiers will enjoy the length and variety of blue and red pistes descending from the higher peaks. Experts will enjoy testing themselves on the infamous Sarenne, which at 16km in length, boasts to be the longest black piste in Europe.

Activities

Indoor activities include a trip to the cinema or a pampering day at the spa. For something more active, there is ice climbing and snowmobiling. Animal lovers can enjoy ski joëring, whereby horses pull skiers along behind them in the snow, or husky sledding. For a once in a lifetime activity that rewards with breath-taking views, there's paragliding or helicopter rides to try.
