The Location

The Chalet L'Arclusaz, located on Route du Laitelet in the charming village of Mottaret, lies at the very heart of the immense Three Valleys ski area. At 1750m altitude, Mottaret sits 300m higher than the centre of Méribel, making it the most snow-sure of all the villages in the Méribel Valley. With the slopes and lifts only a five minute walk away, in addition to a bus stop in front of the chalet, this chalet is the ideal location from which to explore all of this fabulous ski area. The centre of Mottaret which is only five minutes' walk away, boasts a decent offering of bars and restaurants, but if you're looking to explore Méribel centre, there is a regular free shuttle bus which departs from just outside the chalet.

The Chalet

This traditional Savoyard chalet, oozes mountain charm and comfort. Upon entering on the ground floor, there is a ski and boot room for safely storing your equipment, as well as a communal toilet. Follow the entrance hall through and on the right there is a fully equipped kitchen, with fridge, freezer, dish washer, hob, oven, microwave, kettle, coffee machine and toaster (a washing machine is also available) and separate dining room with a large table, perfect for enjoying meals with friends and family.

The living room with is cosy and inviting with its roaring fire place, the perfect place to relax and play games with friends, or enjoy a good film on the wide-screen television after a tiring day on the mountain. The doors in the living room open onto a huge south-facing balcony, perfect for soaking up the winter sun and enjoying the picturesque views of the Méribel valley.

On the first floor you'll find two bedrooms sharing a shower room and toilet, the first with twin beds and the second with a double bed and its own balcony. Follow the stairs down to the lower ground floor, where there are three spacious double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite shower room and toilet. For some added luxury, you'll also find an indoor hot tub and sauna, as well as a downstairs shower and toilet.

If you're arriving by car, there is space for two cars to park outside the chalet and if you still require more space, there is a free outdoor carpark just a couple of minutes' walk away.

We include: beds made on arrival, fridges stocked*, bath robes and slippers, mid-week and end of stay cleaning, mid-week towel change, local tourist tax, satellite TV & free WIFI access in the chalet.

Please note that this chalet is not wheelchair accessible and would not be suitable for people with restricted mobility.

Méribel Mottaret

Purpose-built Méribel-Mottaret is the highest resort in the Méribel Valley, just up the valley from Méribel Centre and the most centrally located resort in the huge 3 Valleys ski area. The resort is ideal for true skiers who want easy access to the pistes and families looking for a quieter base than livelier Méribel Centre. Lying at 1750m altitude and with easy access to the highest sectors of the ski area, good snow conditions are guaranteed throughout the ski season. Mottaret offers a small selection of bars, restaurants and shops and is only a short free bus ride away from Méribel Centre where you'll find more amenities and livelier après-ski scene.

Ski Area

Méribel-Mottaret lies at 1750m altitude in the Méribel Valley, in an unrivalled position at the heart of the 3 Valleys, the world's largest ski area. With 600km of world-class pistes to explore, the extent and variety of terrain is simply staggering. The high altitudes combined with first class snow-making facilities ensures quality snow conditions throughout the season. The lift systems are modern and well designed making navigation to the neighbouring Belleville (Les Menuires and Val Thorens) and Courchevel Valleys easy. Within a few minutes from Mottaret you could be crusing the wide open bowl of Val Thorens or the long reds from the top of the Saulire into Courchevel. The 3 Valleys really does have everything and in Mottaret you are in the heart of the action!

Activities

Although skiing is the main activity on a winter holiday in Méribel, there are plenty of other fantastic ways to explore the mountains and terrain. Snowmobiles provide an easy and fun way to journey through trails and forests, and paragliding is available to give you a bird's eye view of the ski area. There's also bowling, husky sledding and ice skating to enjoy.
