Location

Chalet Marielaine is located in the popular resort of Méribel, which sits at the heart of the World's largest connected ski area, The Three Valleys. As the central resort in the area, Méribel is the perfect choice of resort from which to explore all of this vast ski area. Chalet Marielaine is located in the Mussillon area of Méribel, a popular and pretty hamlet of traditional chalets which sits on the main route into the resort, just a little below the centre. The chalet is only a twelve minute stroll from the centre of Méribel. To get to the ski slopes, we'd recommend taking the free shuttle bus. There is a bus stop roughly 100 metres outside the chalet, from there it's just a couple of minutes at most to the base of the lifts. We also operate two other chalets in close proximity, Chalet Mariefleur is just next door and Chalet Brioche shares the same building, which could make this a great option for a larger group of friends or family looking to stay close to one another.

The Chalet

Chalet Marielaine is a charming property which has been tastefully decorated in a style that blends modern French style, with the traditional Savoyard architecture. With three bedrooms sleeping up to seven guests and spread over multiple levels, this chalet is the perfect choice for a family ski holiday in a stylish chalet.

Entrance to the chalet is on the ground floor, upon entering if you then head downstairs to the lower floor, where you'll find the ski room, complete with heated boot driers to ensure your feet are warm and dry before hitting the slopes each morning. There is also a laundry room with washing machine and drier located on the lower floor.

On the first floor there is a spacious living room, beautifully furnished and with ample space for everyone to be seated on the comfortable sofas, so you can curl up by the roaring fire and enjoy a good film on the large flat screen television. The living room is spacious and open plan, with a dining table with space for up to seven guests to enjoy a fabulous meal in this warm and characterful room. The kitchen is located in a separate room next to the dining area and comes fully equipped with beautiful granite work surfaces, a semi-professional oven and hob, plus microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster and cafetière, so you'll have everything you need to whip up a feast for all the family.

Outside the living room there is a spacrious terrace, with stunning views across the resort of Méribel and the peaks beyond. On the terrace you'll find an outdoor Jacuzzi, the perfect spot to enjoy a little glass of something and watch sun set behind the mountains, all of which is bound to help ease the aches and pains of your muscles after a tiring day charging the ski slopes. The Jacuzzi is located under a dedicated awning, which provides shelter so you can enjoy the Jacuzzi even in the event of bad weather.

The three bedrooms are all located on the second floor, where there is one bedroom with a large double bed (140cm x 200cm) and en-suite shower room and WC, one bedroom with two single beds (90cm x 190cm) and a small double bed (140cm x 200cm) on the mezzanine plus an en-suite shower room and WC. The final bedroom has two single beds (90cm x 190cm) and an en-suite bathroom and WC.

There is free WI-Fi throughout the chalet, perfect if you need to work whilst away, or stream your favourite film or TV shows whilst relaxing in front of the roaring fire. If you drive to Méribel there is space for one car to park right outside the chalet.

*Food and drink are not included in the chalet price. You order and pay for provisions a few days before the start of your holiday, we will deliver and stock your chalet ready for your arrival.

Contactless Catering Service

Ski France presents the next generation of chalet holidays, for a contactless world. Your chalet will be ready on arrival - beds made, dinner ready and fridges stocked*, wine-cellars replenished, skis and lift passes all booked. But you won't see us. We'll be at the end of the phone, but there will be no contact, unless you need it. You and your family will be safe and looked-after, as we work in the background, providing everything you need.

Four days before arrival, you will receive a comprehensive provisions list with everything you could possibly need for your holiday. That might be oven-ready meals, or the ingredients you'll need for Bolognaise, Soufflés or Cheese Fondues. Dry goods, dairy, fresh fruit and veg, fresh meat or fish, beers, wines, whatever, all bought for you and stocked in advance.

Our aim is to provide the safest possible environment for a ski holiday, whilst staying as affordable as possible. The new way to holiday will be by enjoying the facilities, food and beverages but without the staff waiting on you hand and foot. That will keep things safe and affordable. However, for those in search of a little more luxury, we are able provide drivers, chefs, daily cleaning, ski lessons etc, all of which can be discussed at the time of booking or with our concierge service prior to arrival.

*Please note all food, drink, ski hire and lift passes come at additional costs and not included in the chalet price. Provisions will be billed at cost price and can be ordered from the list that will be sent out to you, and ski hire and lift passes can be booked in advance with our preferential rates.

Méribel

Purpose built for skiing in 1938, Meribel is now the most centrally located resort in the huge 3 Valleys ski area. The resort is ideal for true skiers who want easy access to the pistes and the best location from which to explore all of the other valleys. Meribel offers a lively selection of bars, restaurants and shops and a buzzing apres-ski scene.

Ski Area

Méribel lies at the heart of the 3 Valleys, the world's largest ski area. With 600km of world-class pistes to explore, the extent and variety of terrain is simply staggering. The high altitudes combined with first class snow-making facilities ensures quality snow conditions throughout the season. The lift systems are modern and well designed making navigation to the neighbouring Belleville (Les Menuires and Val Thorens) and Courchevel Valleys easy. Within a few minutes from Meribel Mottaret you could be crusing the wide open bowl of Val Thorens or the long reds from the top of the Saulire into Courchevel. The 3 Valleys really does have everything and in Meribel you are in the heart of the action!

Activities

Although skiing is the main activity on a winter holiday in Méribel, there are plenty of other fantastic ways to explore the mountains and terrain. Snowmobiles provide an easy and fun way to journey through trails and forests, and paragliding is available to give you a bird's eye view of the ski area. There's also bowling, husky sledding and ice skating to enjoy.

Payment Conditions

Ski France offers 3 options for payment:

1) Pay in 3 installments if booked more than 70 days prior to arrival:
- 15% deposit at time of booking, 15% payment 60 days prior to arrival & 70% payment 30 days prior to arrival.
2) Pay in 2 installments if booked more than 30 days prior to arrival:
- 30% deposit at time of booking & 70% payment 30 days prior to arrival.
3) Pay in 1 payment (always available and obligatory if booked less than 30 days prior to arrival)
- 100% at time of booking

Additional Extras:
- Any extras added more than 30 days prior to arrival will be added to final payment
- Any extras added after final payment to be paid at time of addition to booking

Cancellation Policy

If the client cancels a reservation the following amounts will be retained:

- More than 30 days before the date of arrival: 30% of the price of the holiday
- Between 30 and 21 days prior to arrival date: 45% of total accommodation cost
- Between 20 and 8 days prior to arrival date: 60% of total accommodation cost
- Between 7 and 4 days prior to arrival date: 90% of total accommodation cost
- 3 days or less prior to the arrival date: 100% of total accommodation cost

Special For Winter 2020/2021

Ski France is allowing an exceptional cancellation policy for winter 2020/2021.

For this winter, we are offering free cancellation until 7 days before departure. This means you can cancel for any reason up to 7 days before departure and we will refund you in full, all monies paid.

If you have to cancel in the 7 days prior to arrival due to government enforced restrictions to travel or movement (a travel ban between your place of residence and destination ; self-isolation rulings or a lockdown in your place of residence or resort closure) we will allow you to defer the booking, at the same price, to the next year, or keep all monies paid as a holiday credit on any Ski France or Summer France holiday for the following 2 years.
