The Location

Chalet Genepy is located along the picturesque Chemin du Petit Alaska, a peaceful and charming hillside area offering breathtaking views over Val d'Isère. The narrow mountain road leading to the chalet can be tricky to climb or drive up, with limited lighting and is not best suited for people with pushchairs or mobility issues. The chalet is just a 10-minute walk from the heart of Val d'Isère and only a 5-6 minute drive to the Solaise Express lifts and nearby pistes. With our driver service included in the price, getting to the slopes is effortless.

The Chalet

Spread across 3 delightfully furnished floors, the chalet combines traditional alpine style - with its stunning wooden beams and panelling, and beautiful stone fireplace - with wonderful modern touches.
The ground floor features four bedrooms. Two of them come with en-suite bathrooms, each with either a shower or a dedicated shower room. The remaining two bedrooms share a shower room, with one of these rooms furnished with two bunk beds for children. Also on this level is a ski room with heated boot racks. Once the skis are off, head straight for the wellness area, with its striking indoor swimming pool built into the rock face. Close by are the steam room and a chill-out area with bean bags and sound system, perfect for teenagers to escape to.
Afterwards you can take the lift to the first floor, where you'll find a generous open plan living and dining area with a large table, a fireplace, comfortable sofas, a state-of-the-art TV, and access to the sun-drenched terrace, where you can admire the lofty peaks. Additionally, there is a kitchen area and a separate lounge with a sofa and a second TV, as well as a nearby separate toilet.
The second floor is accessible only via stairs, as the lift goes up to the first floor. This level includes a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom featuring a separate shower and a walk-in wardrobe, along with another bedroom that has its own en-suite shower room.

What's Included?

We provide: Bed linen with beds made for your arrival, soft towels and cosy bathrobes, mid-week cleaning with a fresh towel change, end-of-stay cleaning, a welcome basket, unlimited wifi, firewood for the fireplace, and local holiday tax. Our contactless catering service, where we shop, deliver and stock your kitchen before your arrival and half-way through your stay.*

*If you choose our contactless catering option, then food and drink are included in the cost. We will supply you with breakfast every day, afternoon tea and snacks, pre-dinner nibbles, plus a three course dinner on six of the seven nights, which also includes unlimited red and white wine and a few beers.
*If you choose our self catered option, food and drink are not included in the chalet price, so you have the freedom to cook at home, or try out the great local restaurants in resort.

Private Shuttle

Included in your stay at Chalet Genepy is a private shuttle service for transport to and from the slopes, available every day (except arrival and departure day) between 8:30 and 10am and between 4pm and 6pm. The service is limited to 2 trips per chalet each morning and evening.

Premium Contactless Catering Service

Ski France presents the next generation of chalet holidays, for a contactless world. Your chalet will be ready on arrival - beds made, dinner ready and fridges stocked*, wine-cellars replenished, skis and lift passes all booked. But you won't see us. We'll be at the end of the phone, but there will be no contact, unless you need it. We will visit your chalet mid-week to give it a full clean and change of towels, but this shall be done during the day, whilst you're out on the slopes. You and your family will be safe and looked-after, as we work in the background, providing everything you need.

Our contactless catering service comes with the choice of two pricing options, a fixed menu with food and drink included in the price, and our self catered option which does not include food or drink, so you are free to tailor-make your holiday meals on a budget that suits you.

For those looking for a simple packaged chalet price, we are offering an all-inclusive price, which includes rental of the chalet and your food and drink for the week. Included will be breakfast, snacks to take with you skiing, afternoon tea and cakes/snacks, pre-dinner nibbles a three course dinner on 6 out of 7 nights, with a selection of after dinner cheeses, plus champagne for your first night, a kir for before dinner and unlimited wine and some beers. We have prepared a delicious menu for the week, with a mix of ready prepared meals from a local delicatessen and easy to cook dishes or sides. All that will be required from you is to pop a few things in the oven and throw together a few ingredients to make a simple salad, or steam a few vegetables as sides to your main meal.

Perhaps you want the freedom to choose your own menus, or perhaps you'd prefer to eat out more than one evening during the week, or you just love to cook yourself and enjoy the holidays where you have time to do this in a relaxed way. That's where our self catering service comes in. As an alternative to the service detailed above, we will also offer a lower rate, which does not include the food and drink for the week.

Our aim is to provide the safest possible environment for a ski holiday, whilst staying as affordable as possible. The new way to holiday will be by enjoying the facilities, food and beverages but without the staff waiting on you hand and foot. That will keep things safe and affordable. However, for those in search of a little more luxury, we are able to provide drivers, chefs, daily cleaning, ski lessons etc, all of which can be discussed at the time of booking or with our concierge service prior to arrival.

*Please note that for the self catered option, ski hire and lift passes come at additional costs and are not included in the chalet price. Ski hire and lift passes can be booked in advance with our preferential rates. For our fixed menu option, the price does not include ski hire and lift passes, but it does include breakfast and afternoon tea for 7 days, plus a 3-course dinner with beer and wine for 6 days.

Activities

The resort has numerous shops, bars, and restaurants. You can also enjoy an outdoor ice skating rink, an aqua-sports centre with pool and sauna, and a cinema. Numerous events are organized by the resort throughout the season: various international ski competitions, giant sculptures of snow, concerts or even guided tours of Val d'Isère. Try the new slides (snake, airboard, yooner, ..) or just enjoy a relaxing holiday.

Val d'Isère

Val d'Isère, lying high in the Tarentaise Valley at 1850m altitude, is one of the most prestigious and best-known ski resorts in the world. The resort offers modern facilities and services yet retains it's heritage and traditional alpine charm. Combine this with one of largest, most varied and challenging ski areas in France and you get a first-class ski holiday destination.

Ski Area

Val d'Isère shares the vast ski area with it's higher altitude neighbour, Tignes. With 300km of pistes to explore, including dedicated beginner zones and a huge choice of blue and red pistes, there is great scope for both beginners and improvers. For more advanced skiers, the numerous blacks and off-piste routes provide some great challenges. 95% of the ski area is above 1850m altitude and with the glacier topping out at 3456m, snow depth and quality is assured all season.

Payment Conditions

Ski France offers 2 options for payment:

1) Pay in 2 installments if booked more than 30 days prior to arrival:
- 30% deposit at time of booking & 70% payment 30 days prior to arrival.
2) Pay in 1 payment (always available and obligatory if booked less than 30 days prior to arrival)
- 100% at time of booking

Additional Extras:
- Any extras added more than 30 days prior to arrival will be added to final payment
- Any extras added after final payment to be paid at time of addition to booking

Cancellation Policy

If the client cancels a reservation the following amounts will be retained:

- More than 30 days before the date of arrival: 30% of the price of the holiday
- Between 30 and 21 days prior to arrival date: 45% of total accommodation cost
- Between 20 and 8 days prior to arrival date: 60% of total accommodation cost
- Between 7 and 4 days prior to arrival date: 90% of total accommodation cost
- 3 days or less prior to the arrival date: 100% of total accommodation cost
