Les Deux Alpes Holidays are perfect for...
- Beautiful surroundings, with walks leading to glaciers and the Ecrins Park.
- Activities galore, including parachuting, windsurfing, wild water swimming and paintball.
- Lift passes are very affordable in the summer months, and allow you to easily get around the mountains.
Lying on the edge of the Ecrins National Park, Les Deux Alpes is famous for its high-altitude glacier, but in the summer, this mountainous region is a sunny, picturesque paradise. A quaint village lying on a high, remote col, the resort is more beautiful than most other purpose-built resorts. The area offers truly stunning views over the peaks and glaciers of the Ecrins and aside from the high-altitude skiing, the resort is famous for its lively atmosphere and fantastic facilities. Whether you are looking to relax by the water's edge, or kick start the adrenaline, Les Deux Alpes has exactly what you are looking for.
Activities include climbing, canyoning, motocross, hiking, horse riding, mountain biking, quad-biking, windsurfing, and even snowboarding in the summer. This wonderful resort is full of opportunities.
Ski France has three fantastic accommodation options throughout the resort. Our two unique and exciting hotels have been recently renovated to provide a comfortable and relaxing stay. We also provide a residence comprised of studio apartments ideal for those who enjoy being out and about in the resort. Choose between the Ibiza, a classy 3-star hotel with top notch facilities; Hotel Les Airelles, an affordable retro-style hotel in an unbeatable location; and our cosy studio apartments at residence La Cime de Lans.
Les Deux Alpes hosts a range of mountainous tours, in which you can explore the picturesque landscape. In the summer months there is even limited snowmobiling, with great coaching and stunning views from the very top. Alternatively, venture out on a Segway tour and be shown around the town by a friendly local. This is the perfect opportunity for those who are looking to explore the culture of the area, on a scenic and relaxing holiday. For something more exhilarating, try out Air2Alpes, and parachute across the Alps for an unparalleled way to take in these vast mountains.
Whether you prefer to enjoy the river or the lakes surrounding the town, the water's edge offers some great opportunities to relax, or have a gentle swim to cool off from the warmth of the sun. It is also a perfect opportunity to try out some windsurfing. There are a number of water sports centres in and around Les Deux Alpes, many of which are set close to the Ecrins National Park close to the glacier Fétoules. They offer the opportunity for you to don your lifejacket and experience the white-knuckle waters, whether by canoe, kayak or even wild water swimming!
Try out quad biking, either by racing your friends and family on the track, or just driving around exploring the surroundings. If you want to really break a sweat, visitors can try mountain biking through green fields and up rocky paths.
If your need for speed is truly insatiable, then the motocross here is a must, while the landscape also offers a unique horse riding experience. Whether it's your first time, or you're an equine pro, Les Deux Alpes is a magnificent location to explore on horseback. You will be given trained instruction, and the attention and care you need to feel safe with the horses.
Les Deux Alpes' landscape is calling to be climbed. Traverse nature's boundaries as you try canyoning, or scramble high with a day of rock climbing. After an adventurous day, head to the Acqua Center where you'll find a gym, Jacuzzi, and sauna to relax in. Your muscles will be able to unwind, and gain that much needed rest and recuperation.
For more competitive guests, or if you are just looking for some fun with friends or family, there's paintballing to try. With excellent equipment and professional members of staff, Paintball Commando is a brilliant opportunity to have some fun as a group.
You'll find a whole host of different restaurants in Les Deux Alpes area, and holidaying here gives you the perfect chance to indulge in some authentic French cuisine. Try out Le P'tit Polyte, which mostly uses fresh local ingredients and is very affordable, or L'entracte restaurant, which has a warm and inviting atmosphere, combined with fresh French flavours. If you are looking for particularly tasty desserts, make sure to dine at Alisier, whose main courses are equally delicious.
If you are looking for something more international, the Globe Trotter has a range of foods to tempt your taste buds and satisfy your stomach. From Asian curries to Mexican dishes, you are sure to find something to your liking. If you want a superb Italian meal, then go to Pizza Cyan a thoroughly Italian restaurant even in France.
Check out the local nightlife by exploring the area's bars and clubs during your stay in Les Deux Alpes. The Motown Café is a great place to enjoy a warm, cool or alcoholic drink during the day, or to enjoy a long night in a funky but relaxed atmosphere. You could even have breakfast here the next day, before you head out for the day's adventure.
Those after a really good drink, or a variety of different shots, should try out the K.re Shooterloungebar. Other great venues include the fabulously named Polar Bear Pub, or the beer specialist CO-Coon Bar.
In summer the lifts in Les Deux Alpes tend to open at around 9am and close at around 6pm. This may vary according to weather and the hours of sunlight. It is also possible that some lifts may close for lunch, so it is best to check ahead of time so you don't get stuck.
Les Deux Alpes has a range of childcare and family facilities that include a baby club and mini club for children aged between 18 months and 12 years old, as well as a childcare centre for children aged between six months and two years old. There is also a nursery centre for children between two years and six years old, and a leisure centre for slightly older children aged between six years and 12 years old, where they can learn sports safely and with others their own age.
In summer it is noticeably easier to find a space to park your car in Les Deux Alpes than in winter. However, car parks in the resorts are tightly packed, so you will often have to leave your car outside. An easy solution to this is to book a parking space in advance whenever possible. Remember not to park illegally, as traffic wardens are constantly patrolling the streets nearby.
